3D Chair
For this assignment, we were to select a picture of a real chair, and then wrap pictures around it to create a 3D effect. Also to add to the effect, you were to create a shadow of the object. I found a unique looking chair, and it reminded me of a comic villain's chair or throne. So I thought about using pictures of my favorite villains, but settled on using posters for movies that included villains, as well as posters for some of my favorite movies. I used different main "sections" of the chair to place the pictures on. You can see most of the lines that split the posters into these sections. I used the blur tool to make the lines between posters not be so distinct. Overall, the general colors of the chair are black and blue. The shape of the chair is smooth and curved, but it does have several areas that stand out by coming to points.
I found a carpet texture, and changed the perspective to be more fitting, and trimmed the top edge to not be just a straight line. I had two different gradient shadings for the carpet and the wall to create a light source off screen. I outlined the chair with the pen tool, filled in the outline, and lowered the opacity to create the chair's shadow. Overall I'm satisfied with the outcome, although there are some lines I wish were a little more smooth.
